- Pseudo-3D -

In the middle of the night,
I hope you turn off the light of the room and make the dark world.
Though eyes open now,
There is the dark invisible world there.

In the situation, close your eyes.
Similarly, the dark world.
You find you can see only the dark invisible world as ever even if closed or open eyes.

However, two darkness when eyes open or close is different like chalk and cheese.

The darkness watching in the situation that opened eyes is 3D-darkness to spread through the room overall.

In contrast, the darkness watching in the situation that closed eyes is -
- the right eye watches the backside of the right eyelid and the left eye watches the backside of the left eyelid -
the separate darkness that is independent each and is no intersection at all.

So to speak,
the darkness watching in the situation that opened eyes is one 3D-darkness.
On the other hand, the darkness watching in the situation that closed eyes is two independent 2D-darkness.

However, both darkness look the same for us.

These two things called eyes which we have,
in fact, originally,
I think that these are the organ not to watch one 3D-vision but to recognize two 2D-pictures.

In addition,
a sound to feel in the ear,
a smell to feel with a nose,
a feeling of atmosphere to feel with skin,
the time process of the scene which I have watched with eyes,
and of course the slight difference of two 2D-pictures,
by referring to all of them,
We may have been compiling bastard 3D in a brain.

You are seeing a ball comes towards you.
All right, It is surely 3D picture indeed.
However, you may judge it in your brain by the process of time when a small ball before several seconds changes to a big one several seconds later.

It's hard to catch a ball, because I do not feel a perspective with one eye.

Yes, sure.
It's hard to catch a ball with one eye.

However, as for it,
I suppose this reason is because the transaction speed of the brain for the time process of the ball becomes late by closing one-eye.

A human brain has right and left, in a manner of speaking, it is a dual CPU.
In case of closing one eye, We must make data processing with one CPU,
and it's obvious that this processing capacity is inferior to the case of both eyes.
It is hard to catch the ball at 200 mph beyond our data processing of own brain even if we are looking with both eyes.

Well, how about the next hypothesis ?
Like next photo, it is an experiment to match the forefinger of both hands with in front of oneself.

In the case of both eyes, we can put it together easily.
However, in the case of one eye, it does not often focus well.
This will be just the evidence that both eyes watch in 3D.
Well, so you say ?

I want you to try it with closing both eyes on trial.

... Oh ?
You can put it together well unexpectedly than a case of one eye, can't you ?

I guess performing with one eye is the condition that one brain is activated and other one brain stops.
Because so-called brain is in condition that it cannot be in the ordinary way, a light panic is caused.
However, when both eyes are closed, both brains are stabilized, and probability rises than a case of one eye.
Therefore, by this experiment too, we cannot prove that scenery looking with both eyes is 3D.

If we watch an object three-dimensionally, it is impossible with two eyes lining up at the near position.
As we call 3D, there are three elements of length, the side and the depth, leastwise, I think that three eyes are necessary for us.
We want two eyes in the position of right and left as remote as possible.
And if possible, we want our eye in the rear of the object too.

Actually, I have heard the fact that cannot yet explain properly why the eyes can watch an object stereoscopically by the science.
If so, I am not surprised especially.
Anyhow, in fact, because we cannot capture an object stereoscopically with only eyes.
